An online virtual forum will be conducted prior to applications opening, in which applicants can hear presentations from participating health providers and have the opportunity to ask question with key recruitment personnel.

Please review this website frequently for regular updates on the 2025/26 GradConnect process.

The GradConnect handbook (PDF 4MB) is currently being updated and will be available before the 2025/26 GradConnect application period opens. The handbook will provide all the information you need in one place.

What do graduate nursing programs offer?

GradConnect enables newly qualified enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives access to a wide choice of employment opportunities through graduate (or transition to practice) programs.

Participating in a graduate program is a way to kickstart your career in a supportive environment. It gives you the opportunity to:

  • Participate in a paid program offering hands on experience and exposure.
  • Gain experience in a wide range of clinical settings.
  • Consolidate your theoretical learning, while developing critical clinical skills and judgement.
Am I eligible to apply?

To be eligible for a position via GradConnect 2025/26 you must:

1. Be eligible for registration as an enrolled nurse, registered nurse and/or midwife with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) (external site)

2. Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident OR an Australian temporary resident with a valid visa and full-working rights for the duration of the graduate program.

3. Have completed nursing and/or midwifery studies after 01 January 2024. Preference will be given to those who completed their studies in Australia.

4. Have not previously participated in a graduate program in the same designation to which they are currently applying.

  • Registered nurses, who have previously undertaken an enrolled nurse or a midwifery graduate program, are eligible to apply for a registered nurse graduate program.
  • Graduate midwives, who have previously undertaken an enrolled nurse or a registered nurse graduate program, are eligible to apply for a midwifery graduate program.

Assessment of all applicants will be based on merit, with preference given to WA residents with Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent residency or applicants who have completed their studies within Australia.

Nursing and midwifery students of other nationalities (i.e. non-Australian or New Zealand citizens) who are eligible for registration with the NMBA and who meet all other eligibility criteria, are welcome to apply for employment through GradConnect.
